On March 26, Commerce Minister Wang Wentao met with Mathias Cormann, OECD Secretary-General, and discussed with him ways to deepen cooperation between China and the OECD.

Wang Wentao said that under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, China is actively fostering new quality productive forces, accelerating efforts to build a new development paradigm, and promoting high-quality development. He expressed China’s willingness to work with the OECD in trade and investment, green development and digital economy through policy sharing, personnel exchanges and practical cooperation, and jointly contribute to strong, sustainable, inclusive and balanced global economic growth.

Mathias Cormann expressed appreciation of China’s remarkable achievements in economic growth, reform and opening-up, and poverty alleviation, and expressed hope for closer cooperation in areas of shared interest to jointly tackle global challenges, such as climate change and digital economy development.
