On April 1, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao met with Ray Dalio, the founder of American company Bridgewater. The two sides exchanged views on the global economic situation, China-US economic and trade relations and other topics.

Wang Wentao pointed out that at present, China is unswervingly expanding its high-standard opening up, responding to the uncertainty of the external environment with its own certainty, and injecting stability and new momentum into global economic development. The trade war is detrimental to everyone, and China and the U.S. should adhere to the right way to get along and seek solutions to economic and trade issues through equal dialogue.

Ray Dalio said that since the beginning of reform and opening up, China’s economy has developed rapidly with remarkable achievements. Ray Dalio expressed his willingness to contribute to the development of U.S.-China relations.
