“Big Market for All: Export to China” Series of Events Launched in Shanghai

On November 4, 2025, the launch ceremony for the “Big Market for All: Export to China” series of events was successfully held at the Grand Halls, Shanghai. Premier Li Qiang attended the ceremony and announced the launch. Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao attended and addressed the ceremony, and Chen Jining and Wu Zhenglong were also present.

In his address, Wang Wentao stated that the “Big Market for All: Export to China” series of events is a pragmatic measure by China to expand its voluntary opening up and promote balanced development of imports and exports. He described it as an innovative step to share the opportunities of China’s vast market with the world and break new ground for win-win cooperation, as well as a proactive move demonstrating China’s support for economic globalization and the multilateral trading system.

Wang outlined that MOFCOM will organize ten major events, with a focus on continuously expanding the circle of partners for China’s opportunities to benefit the world; establishing multi-dimensional channels for more foreign products to gain access; creating tailored consumption scenarios for high-quality products to sell well; and evaluating the outcomes to ensure the long-term success of Export to China. The goal is to enrich the “Export to China” brand, solidifying China’s position as a top export destination and a source of growth for more countries.

Speeches were also delivered by Luca de Meo, CEO of the French luxury giant Kering, Sean Stein, President of the U.S.-China Business Council, and Tetsuro Homma, Chairman of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China. They indicated that the global business community is seeking greater stability, predictability, and opportunities for cooperation. They noted that China’s branding of “Big Market for All: Export to China” sends a clear signal to the world: China is not only a massive consumer market but also a partner willing to achieve shared success through institutional innovation.

Approximately 300 participants attended the launch ceremony, including principal officials from relevant Chinese government agencies, heads of international organizations, representatives from foreign trade promotion agencies and chambers of commerce, as well as exhibitors and buyers from the China International Import Expo, and some diplomats envoys.
