Recently, Wang Wentao, Minister of Commerce, and Maksim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of Russia, co-chaired the 25th meeting of the Economic and Trade Cooperation Sub-committee of the China-Russia Prime Ministers' Regular Meeting Committee via video link. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on developing bilateral trade, strengthening cooperation on emerging and key areas, promoting trade and investment facilitation, and deepening cooperation in multilateral arena, and reached several consensuses.

Wang Wentao emphasized that since the beginning of this year, trade between China and Russia has maintained a sound growth. The two sides should continue to implement the Roadmap of High-Quality Development of Trade in Goods and Services between China and Russia, consolidate trade of key goods, strengthen economic cooperation and trade between small and medium-sized enterprises and local regions, deepen trade and investment facilitation, nurture drivers of growth, including digital economy, green development, cross-border e-commerce and service trade, and promote the steady development of economic cooperation and trade between China and Russia.

Wang Wentao said that China stands ready to work with Russia to implement the Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation between China and Eurasian Economic Union, strengthen cooperation in multilateral arena such as BRICS, G20, SCO and APEC, promote the reform of WTO and safeguard the multilateral trading system.
